You know the feeling, it’s that right type of warmth accompanied by a cool breeze that whips the heat off of you, whilst you bake in the sun.
It’s the ultimate definition of relaxation and yanno what tops it? Having a hammock bed to enjoy the weather with.
When you nod off, you know you could be anywhere in the world – it makes the perfect escape from Britain and the best mini vacation.
And they’re so cheap, it’s silly many people don’t have one yet.
With it being 2017, you’re spoilt for choice. Do you want a double hammock bed? or a single (selfish) hammock bed? Perhaps you need some shade? Well you can get a hammock to lie down on that suits all of your preferences.
Before we list our favourites, to help you figure out what bed suits you best, we’ve compiled a list of “what we deem important” for you to pick out your own hammock bed.
- Where will you place it?
- Will you need a frame or will you tie your hammock between two strong poles?
- How strong do you need the material?
- How large do you want your hammock to be?
- Is colour important to you?
- How many people is it for?
- Do you want to be able to take it camping/beach with you?
If you can answer the above questions in full, and are 100% confident in your answers; then you’ll find your hammock below.
This hammock is affordable, light and mobile. It gives you the best options to the above questions we agreed was important.
And even has the bonus feature of having pillows. How great is that?
The material is made from 70% cotton and 30% polyester to give you a light but strong thread, that will support up to 300kg.
This blend of material allows the hammock to bend to your natural body shape, whilst also being supportive – giving you the ultimate feeling of comfort.
The rope has been tied in a way that gives equal support to all of the hammock ensuring the shape stays intact. Like every other hammock bed, this one will wobble when you get into it – so you’ve been warned: approach this with caution and it will treat you right.
This hammock, is the complete set for people who don’t want to be “messing around with knots” and need that extra support.
It’s big enough to fit two adults, but more suited for just the one.
The spruce wood frame gives your hammock the flexibility it needs to hold a person; whilst offering the support you trust when ordering a hammock.
Having came down in price recently; you may be able to snatch yourself a bargain with this well though out hammock bed.
The Hammock itself is 1m x 2m in length and will support up to 120kg of weight.
The fabric is very durable and can be un-clipped out of the hammock so you can wash it to keep your hammock clean, all year around.
This 2 person Hammock will hold 2 people easily; with a combined maximum weight of 180kg.
Proudly boasting to be one of the easiest hammocks to set up. You will be enjoying this in no time.
The roof is detachable (but admittedly a bit too much to be taking off and reattaching frequently).
You should also be extra careful on hot day’s if you don’t have the fabric canopy attached. The wood can leave you with a gated tan.
Having said that; this 2 person hammock would suit someone who would like the option of shade, or would like less direct sunlight so they can enjoy their book.
We would air caution to those who don’t “gracefully” enter this hammock as, you can topple the hammock with too much movement.
The overall size of this is 1.2m x 2m
You’ll take one look at this bed; and the first thing that will come to your mind is “premium product, premium price”. But, like you i’m surprised to say, this is one of the cheapest hammock beds available on the market.
Go ahead: take a look
Now, granted you don’t get the swing and the snug feeling you get with a standard hammock. But you do get you very own bed (set with pillows) for your garden.
So you can relax in style this summer.
What we love about this hammock bed, is it lives it’s name. You can adjust the canopy, or heck- even get rid of it. And you get three colours to chose from:
Talk about style!
This bed hammock, isn’t without it’s limitations though. As you can see the legs aren’t that far from the floor. Which means you need a very flat surface to enjoy this.
With other hammocks you could set them up practically anywhere, but with this you may be limited to areas with level grounding (or you can improvise and add some wooden blocks under each foot).
We were really impressed with the material this is made out of. It might strike you as strange, but there’s some skill to be said in creating a fabric that will support 2 fully grown adults weight, maintain a flat surface and dry super fast.
Now it may upset you that the roof isn’t exactly water proof, however you can purchase a tent waterproofer to give you some protection. We wouldn’t waterproof the bed though. In the summer the bed absorbs the water off of your body and then evaporates away. With a waterproofer, your bed would never dry (unless you tipped the water off).
The overall size of this is 1.2m x 2m
We call this the “selfish hammock bed” but really it’s just a hammock haha
And we had to include this
Where to start? How about telling you it’s the best hammock to go camping in.
Being fashioned out of parachute nylon it has the ability to hold the weight of up to 250kg whilst maintaining it’s lightness.
On top of that, you have enough fabric to cocoon yourself, should the weather become too wet. And as it’s nylon you can be sure it’s water tight.
And in a survival situation, this makes for the perfect blanket to help maintain heat.
Also provided is straps and hooks – so you’re set and ready to go and park your hammock up anywhere – smart
And to tie it all together? well you get a neat bad you can compactly place your hammock into – what’s not to love?
